I am a spanish boy and Real Zaragoza fan. Thaks very much for all Liverpool´s friends. Sorry my terrible English, is very difficult for me to say what I think in English.

Puerta was a very good football player, and one of the best person in the Spanish Football. Puerta was a Spanish International Player, and it was going to be summoned for the Eurocup.

Thanks for all.

Shocking. Shows how life can end so abruptly. Very sad news and can only imagine how his family must be feeling on this sad occasion.

RIP young lad

maybe i am being unfair, maybe there are no symptoms or maybe the players don't inform the staff they feel unwell.

R.I.P lad

No, you are not unfair, to be honest.

A heart specialist has said that diseases like this happen to 1 out of 200.000 people so the risk is there.

This specific disease he had can only be detected with a very modern TAC (multi slided), and thus Puerta went through all the TACS, electrocardiograms, and every other check with no problems.

That's why you have to pay attention to symptons such as faints, and Puerta fainted twice in the past, so that thorough check should have been done just in case.

We are all very shocked around here, and down there in Sevilla, Betis and Sevilla fans are united for one day. Betis fans are being clapped as they put flowers on the Sevilla stadium.

Yes sabre, the symptoms show when you play intensive sports, i read this about the heart disease in men health magazine.

RIP! I feel for his missus, its going to be really hard for the baby to grow up without father.

A very nice tribute to Puerta in tonights Super Cup match. Both teams are wearing his name on the back of their shirts and all of the sevilla staff on the bench are wearing his name and number in his memory.

My condolences to his family...very sad news...

Like others have said heart disease can be present without a person being aware of it.

Heart disease runs in my family. My cousin has been lucky though. Her GP thought she ought to get checked out after she had two kids with something wrong with their hearts. They found that she had a hole in the heart and she has now had surgery to correct it. I think she was fortunate to have a GP who bothered to get her checked out, 'cause these days alot of them can't seem to be bothered.

I suppose if you are worried and can get checked out do....'cause I've heard there are people walking round with holes in the heart, which is quite common, and they aren't even aware of it. (Don't mean to be depressing...but I think it's a medical fact.)

Terrible news... have just been to Spain and it was all over the news... very very sad... wife expecting a baby too... my heart goes out to his family. RIP YNWA

There is such a thing as a silent MI (a silent heart attack) - the patient would feel a bit ill (maybe a bit sweaty - which wouldn't worry a young footballer in a hot country) but they wouldn't display the classic signs and symptoms of a full blown heart attack - stabbing chest pain, pins and needles radiating down the arm, indigestion like symptoms etc.
