Don't think he asked for the thread to be locked . He did however ask for his account to be removed .   

A bit like pleading for the death penalty and getting shafted with life imprisonment instead .

My wife rang the Dr's surgery to make an appointment for my son. They rang back a while later (I answered the phone).

"Can I speak to Chas (my son)?"
"Sorry, he's at College" I replied, "I'm his Father, can I help".
"Can I speak to Tanya (my wife)?"
"Sorry, she's in the shower. Can I help"
"Ahhhhh??"
"What is this in relation to", I ask 
"It's a private matter" was the infuriating response. "Can you get either Chas or Tanya to call me?"
"I'm Chas's father & Tanya is my legally wedded wife. We all live together in a loving family relationship with our other son, Conor. Now what is this all about so that we can make the necessary decisions to ensure our son's optimum level of health?" (I'm really cheesed off my now)
"Just get Tanya to ring, Ok??" (she's a bit miffed too) 
"No, if it's THAT private you'd better ring back yourself so that I don't break any confidentiality!!!!!!"

Is political correctness going TOO far??

Personally, I'm getting thoroughly pi.ssed off with all of this cr.ap. I think it's time we started to make a stand against political correctness and call something for what it is.

(1) If I was a father I'd want to have full info of where is going my son to be treated, and the procedures, since they lack transparency, you should find another doctor.

Drs are completely confidential though. If i book the drs i dont want him telling anyone anything. But how did you know it was a drs if they didnt tell you. they would have to give a phone number... so that would say exatly who they were which would also ruin the dr client privelege so im starting to think this story is not completely true!

I reckon the original thread was locked because it breached the forum rules, which is the usual reason.  Maybe, just maybe, it breached this part:

"You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this message board to post any material which is...abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented..."

If you think it's okay to post such material, then pass it off as a joke you need to remember this forum is a public place.  Lionheart was spot on when he said you don't know who's reading it and how they'll react.  Such posts aren't funny, just the thin end of the wedge for some easily led individuals.

If it does, it's because you know him, and not everyone reading it has such a delightful privilege.  Lando's posts broke the forum rules by a country mile.  I recognise they were tongue in cheek, but not everyone would.  To illustration:  If I called you a prima donna would you take it as a joke?
