Anyone following the phone hacking scandal at the moment?

Never been a reader of the newspaper for obvious reasons, but am shocked that they've paid someone to hack into the mobile phones of a murder victim and their families in order to find messages and get stories....

I'm a journo myself and i can't for one moment imagine how the News of the World could justify such action...seriously, how f*cked up must they be?

I thought it was bad enough when they were hacking the phones of washed up celebs and dodgy politicians...but murdered school girls?

From what i've heard, this could be the end for the newspaper...advertisers are preparing to walk away and they'll lose a lot of readers to boot. Good riddance i say!

seriously tho they won't be missed. I haven't particularly followed what's going on but I heard the names Wells and Chapman associated with that paper on the radio and I didn't know why - I knew it could only mean trouble tho

Here in Liverpool we have been on to them for years resulting in a mostly boycott of there papers.

Now at last the rest of the country has got on to it.

The only way these scum could get any lower is if they have hacked the phones of the Hillsborough families. Then again that wouldn't surprise me either. :angry:

Call me old cynic but I reckon the newspaper will blame a rogue journo, go all apologtic and pious. Keep their heads down for a 6 months and then be back to lowlife gutter reporting by 2012

Shocking shocking paper. Just prints utter bullshite every week, yet the gullible public buy it.

If they have hacked phones of relatives of dead soldiers then that is the lowest of the low, burn them to the ground

if the advertisers all pull out (and the signs are they will) the News of the World will folk within a month.

Hopefully the police will have started arresting some of these low lifes and make an example of the lot of them

The only bit of truth that paper prints is the date, however it wouldn't surprise me if that was wrong also.
