Has anyone had a parking fine from a company called Parking eye. My wife got a letter this morning saying she has to pay a fine of £60 for parking illegally. If she doesn't pay withing 13 days of the issue date its £120. The issue date was 4th Feb and it was received today only giving you 2 days to pay. It gives the time of entry into the car park and the exit time and uses number plate recognition to send fines to.
It smells of a scam to me, they hide behind a PO Box number and also no phone number is available. Fortunatly my Mrs car is like a skip and the parking ticket which proves she paid and was within the time limit was still in her car.

Private companies cannot issue 'fines'. You have just received an unenforcable invoice.

It's a [problem].

• do not pay
• do not contact them
• ignore all letters you receive, no matter how threatening
• ignore all their lies about court costs, CCJs and owner liability
• they will go away after 5 or 6 letters
• they will not go to court

These companies make their money by scaring people into paying when they don't have to. If they can scare 50% of people into paying with a few letters, it's a good business to be in.

They just send a few letters and then give up.

Thanks for the replys, unfortunatly she has sent off a copy of the ticket to them to prove she had paid. Will just have to see what that brings. I'll ignore everything else. I think by delaying sending you the letter they think that people won't still have the parking ticket. Thank f*ck for her skip on wheels.

Somewhere in the letters they send, they put something like

"This is not an official document" but they say it in the slyest of words possible so people don't catch it. The use P.O Boxes and they get away with it.
