Yeah it is people and their sometimes misguided interpretation of things that cause the problems.

But daws, the Bible, esp. the new testament is about love.

The second new commandment is to 'love your neighbour as yourself'. This is sometimes a difficult one.

It is easier to hate than to love.

the great plagues are not about love, and the bible has to incldue new and old testement... im christian, but just making a point, there is violence everywhere

The old testament is great, is still relevant and makes good reading IMO.

But the new testament is 'the new covernant between God and man'. It is about love and forgiveness. It has a new authority which supersedes the old.

diddn't think they took bins out on a bank holiday...
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

People have killed one another for years in the name of religion . It's people that are the violent f.ucked up deluded bigots and not the gods or religion they choose to believe in . All the major religions preach love ,it's the sad wierdo's that choose to interperate love in to hate that's wrong with the world .

Please don't try and preach that Islam is a peaceful religon that is strives to coexists with other religons in the 21st Century.

You are one grade A tool.

Firstly it's Robert Spencer.

Secondly his critique on Islam is aimed at the extremist element. He himself says that not all aspects of Islam are violent, only jihadism. He believes, like most non-retards, that moderate Muslims exist and practice Islam peacefully.

Research! LOL

Practice what you preach sunshine.

Ah so you've educated yourself now.

The koran preaches of killing non-believers, yes people take it to the extreme. But they think they are entitled too it's in the text of the most important book in their history FFS.

So sunshine if you are still saying it is a peaceful religion, book then you are deluded Mr SouthCoastShankly

If you also further research his ''critique'' he doesn't just critique the extremists, he deconstructs Islam and what it really means. A 10min vid clip won't educate you enough lad.

I didn't even watch the video. I don't need to. Robert Spencer is heavily right wing, he endorses the English Defence League for example, his opinion is a minority view. One I keep away from.

He makes some valid points about the extremist views but if you care to balance an argument and use neutral sources that have no agenda you will see that the Koran is an interpretive book.

Jihadists choose to interpret parts of the book strictly militantly. Whereas most moderate Muslims choose to interpret the Koran as a way of life not a crusade. The bible focuses on the destruction of the wicked. The key is understanding the context of the word "wicked".

Modern Islam has far more of an extremist element but the religion hasn't changed, the interpretation has. Hence why now Afghanistan is probably one of the most dangerous places on earth to be as an unarmed westerner yet in the 70s it was a hospitable tourist destination.

Go figure.

They were saying on the news this morning that the CIA were tracking a known message courier linked with Osama Bin Laden. He was frequently visiting this walled villa that had no telephone line, no internet connection and very few windows. It was then they got suspicious of it being a hideout. :D

The best bit is the Pakistani authorities claiming they were doing all they were to look for him, and that they weren't harbouring a criminal.

The villa they found him in was 200 yards away from the main Pakistani military training compound!  :D
