Is anyone else having problems since Virgin took over? I post on another forum and a lot of the people on there said that they where having problems. I thought it was just us as we are running a computer and a wireless lap top together. It seems that a lot of people are having problems loading pages. I have had problems loading pages. There are constant errors and everything is running really slow.
Anyone else having the same problems???

Was on the News here....apparently Virgin are doing away with some channels from the TV package.
For example if you have as i do the base pack with sports as extra you will loose SKY 1 for definate and a few others,i not sure which ones!

This Virgin takeover is a disgrace...NTL customers choose NTL,Now its taken over by virgin and customers just have to like it...it's a load of balls and should not be allowed!
Bills go up...my P/c has slowed to the pace of a geriatric slug and they take channels off you into the bargain!

Richard Branson...Your a greedy beardy ginger bast.ard!

Have to agree with you there Bazza. I got my phone bill in there on Tuesday. Its usually about £70 to £80 every month but it has risen to £119 ????  My package with NTL was the family pack with sky sports with the 2mb broadband and phone with discount for making calls to moblies. But now my Virgin package is the family pack, with sky sports TV size XL, broadband M, Tu+TM (whatever that is) Tv size: L and telephone. I have'nt got a clue what any of it means. i know tht if my broadband is medium its over 4 MB but its running really slow and it takes ages for the pages to load. With us now havin the main computer and the lap top running at the same time its twice as slow. Its a pain in the arse. :veryangry  :veryangry  :veryangry

BSkyB looks poised to pull its major channels from rival, Virgin Media cable network after talks collapsed between the two groups.

The broadcasting heavyweights could not agree a rate for the channels, which include Sky One, Two, Three, Sky News and Sky Sports News.

But the move will not affect the availability of Sky's premium movies and sports channels.

Virgin Media claims that Sky tried to deliberately sabotage the talks by doubling the price of its channels.

Virgin Media Chief executive Steve Burch said Sky's behaviour was "heavy handed and anti-competitive", adding "consumer choice has been reduced as a result".

The group, formed by NTL's takeover last year of Virgin Mobile and Telewest, said it hoped to continue discussions, despite suggesting the channels were about to disappear from the Virgin network.

The breakdown in the relationship between the two companies comes shortly after Sky announced plans to withdraw channels from free-to-air digital terrestrial television platforms, such as Freeview.

Sky is set to broadcast the channels - Sky Three, Sky News and Sky Sports News - on a terrestrial pay-TV service, set for launch in the summer.

The move will be closely followed by industry watchdog Ofcom who said it would look in to whether or not Sky's plans would "unacceptably diminish the appeal" of Freeview.

Its a disgrace Kazza !! Im gonna phone up and cancel...usually if ya do that they cut you a deal! Its not the fact of a few extra quid that pisses me off.Its the sheer cheek of them saying..We are taking over NTL and theres nothing you can do about it...And in the process we're gonna take channels outta your package and charge you more!
Legally we are not obliged to honour the signed contract(even within the first compulsory year) as we did not sign to Virgin!

Whats really pis.sing me off is the p/c speed!Fuc.king beardy bast.ard wants to take over the world!

Its a big problem for me Bazza. I live in a flat and I cant get Sky as the dish is blocked because of the flats beside me. Thats why I took cable. I got all the programmes I wanted (including sky sports which I pay £16.50 a month for) I cant believe that they are pulling out over money for channels. They must be making a fortune as it is. The deal that was made with NTL & Telewest was good enough for them, so why change because its Branson. The man has to many fingers in too many pies and hes fucking it up for everyone.
My computer is really slow and its doing my head in. I'm really thinking about going to Talk Talk or AOL. As for the channels... what I'm I gonna do without Sky Sports!!!! :(

As far as I can tell Kazza you're still gonna get Sky Sports and Sky Movies through Virgin it's just the lesser Sky channels like Sky News, Sports News and Sky1 (which is a bastard if you like 24, Lost, Simpsons) all because Virgin say they're shite!  ???

Hope things improve for yers......

.........now where did I put that SKY remote  :p  :D

Its sh.it Kazza i know but i think they will have to sort it out!Im not a leagally literate but basically we all took a contract with NTL and signed to it...Regardless of the takeover they are in breech of contract if they fail to provide the service they had stated in the agreement? Are they not?

I'd say if we phone virgin they may pass the buck to NTL saying that we are not obliged to take their services and are free to change providers, but in the process offer a discount bringing us back to where we where with NTL.......You at this stage with a few correctly chosen words may be able to wangle a better deal!

It looks like they are jumping in trying to take the pi.ss but know full well that they cannot get away with it!

Should be sorted in a week or 2!!

Just have to put up with a slug of a p/c until then!BTW Kazza you wont loose Sky Sports, you will loose Sky Sports News though!
