A Kind of Magic.

When Queen were quite good :D

Fecking bizarre that, I was just considering putting that up. The first picture of you, beautiful little song that was.

Since we're in the midst of a cheese fest, I give you A-Ha "hunting high and low" and "stay on these roads". Fans of video innovation and somewhat bemusingly impossible to sing along with chorus's, might also chuck in "Take on me".

The first two though are the better songs IMHO.

"Set adrift on Memory bliss" by PM Dawn gave many of us the excuse to proclaim for the first time in our lives that we did like "some rap stuff". A lovely tune, with of course the "True" riff meandering in and out of the background.

The A-Ha links for you, Mick:

Hunting High and Low

Stay on these Roads

Take On Me

Thought you might have been into this one, given your love of rotation. :D

You're all wrong.

The best song of the '80's was simply this:

Mmmmhmmmm...

Can't listen to em at work unfortunately, but Right round like a record by the nutter Pete Burns. Good track in fairness that, always went down a storm in Scene One and Two in Scarborough. It was definately worth making your way to the dancefloor for. You couldn't say that for too many songs, given the fact your feet stuck to the carpet like you had velcro soles, there was usually broken glass everywhere and there was a reasonable chance you'd take some incoming on the way through. Ah, them were the days  :D

I'm going to guess this is crash test dummies?

Paul Youngs debut single was not too shabby, "wherever I lay my hat". Really distinctive bit of fretless bass at the start. Also there was a song called "Mary's prayer" by (I think) a band called Danny Wilson which was a top groove.
