hey there
anyone here got some virus on their msn messenger? its like a chat window appears from a contact of yours, who already has the virus, and if you click on it, you will get it too. and from there, the link will be sent to everyone who is on your contact. thats how it spreads.

ive fallen victim to it. anyone here knows how to deal with it? anti virus doesnt work apparently.

Well im not 100% sure it was the msn thingy which f.cuked it up but not too long after that things started going wrong until windows just refused 2 even start up, so i had 2 restore the whole thing back to factory settings

Try an avoid that if you can  :D

I lost a sh.itload of stuff

I dont allow messenger or owt like that on my pc, I think its dodgy as

so yeah guys, do not click on any links regardless of the message
the one i got was

''hi, is this really you? (some link to an image) (ur email add)''

and once u click on it, all the online contacts of urs will get a message from u instantly.

Just spent another 4 hours fixing my mate's computer... almost there, its nice and clean now but I left him with 101 updates to download from microsoft :) And same as you maypax his system restore wouldn't work

Had a right old palaver getting the drivers for his modem... (BT Voyager 105 adsl) he's with AOL... they're absolutely shit.  Anyway the modem driver didn't work and apparently its one dedicated to AOL.  In the end I had to start editing the registry (which I don't like doing normally). He spent an hour on the phone to AOL and then gave me a call cos their helpline was less than useless.  Needless to say he's leaving AOL asap.
