Most overrated sportsperson ever

Football - agree with Beckham, Totti and Ibrahimovich being overrated.  I do think that Beckham pre-2002 world cup was superb though.

Boxing - Eubank.  Good boxer but had far too many dodgy decisions in his favour to be considered a great.

I think there are a few managers that are overrated, but I don't suppose they can be classed as sportsmen ?

Amir Kahn, he may well get a world title , but he is not the great fighter everyone was hoping for.

Totti - was great when I used to watch him with Batistuta, never looked anywhere near that level since.

jesus, i never understood ibrahamovich or totti but every programme talked about them as if they were roberto baggio.

Never rated Ibrahimovich, until I saw him play United last Wed and must admit his work rate was impressive, held the ball up well and distribution was good, be he is NO striker, would be better in midfield

Ronaldo - Portugese version - Most probably the most hated world footballer etc of the year

Agree with Eubank too - he's kids were adopted after he and wife split :(

i have always said that ronaldo is brilliant week in and week out against west ham, bolton, portsmouth etc but has a terrible goal scoring record against the other top four clubs(ignore penalties)

fat ronaldo in his prime was on a different level.

David Beckham and John Terry very overrrated - Most Formula One drivers bar the top couple over the years

Must disagree about Henman being overrrated - he reached number 4 in the world and only one person pretty much stopped him getting a slam and that was sampras - he also reached a semi at the frnech and i think final or semi if the US Open - he has been the best british Mens tennis player for a long time until Murray came alone - He was never the best in the world and no one called him that so think he was rated about right .

i agree that the britiish media never overrated henman, he was probably a top six player but just not good enough to beat the very top, and to be honest, i believe he deserved more respect.

watching hamilton winning the f1 last year, i remember the commentator saying how alonso had been the best driiver. a guy winning some nerd tournament because it rained when another driver was going on the wrong tyres is pathetic.

england or britaiin has lots of excellent sportspeople but holding hamilton up there is stupid.

can i add damon hill - he beat schumacher, probaby  because his car could go so much faster than the guy he was racing against. some belive schumacher was better than hill? ??????

Think the debate about formula one and drivers could go on for years and years - I believe schumacher and senna and prost and couple others prob deserve to be up their as greatest sportsmen but hamilton etc ?? never ,. Hamilton was nutured from an early age and given the best car to drive yet still threw it away in his first seaon and nearly last season . He isnt the best driver there at the moment - prob not even in the top 4 .

i know very little about formula one but prost and senna are on  the same levell but schumacher is way ahead of hachkinan or hill ( who were both good) but i hate the idea of a guy coming in on the best ride and winning.

equal cars, lets see who the best driver is? who cares about the engines.

they would never do equal cars - while the german was better than everyone else the ferrari itself was by far miles better than any other car - its all about the money in forumla one .
