i'm afraid its me ar53, theres no formula involved, the robot appears to be merely reversing a prior 'scramble', in reality the cube is completed one square at a time, you start with one side, then a top row around the completed side, then middle sections, then the bottom cross, individual corners, done. hope this helps, go humans!!
