I have great respect for mods, as Peewee was made one I also have great respect for him. The day they dismissed him without good reason they lost my respect, and the other night with the turks justified my decision.

I don't think being a Mod automatically merits respect, it depends on who it is. If Robert Mugabe was made a mod you couldn't possibly have respect for him, could you?

I don't know what has happened in the past, but the mods now do a good job and are very balanced, there just needs to be increased maintenance of the site - before and after matches mainly.

well to be fair lando what offends one person might not offend you, and since we dont all have to abide by your sensibilities people have every right to question the comments made on the forum.

personally i wasnt offended by the idiots, but if people were, or if people were annoyed by the forum being spammed then they have every right to question the modding and ask why the people were not dealt with quicker.

you are right in one sense, its not the end of the world, but it is annoying, so you can ignore it but others choose to not ignore it, its their prerogative

May I just ask not to bring up my name to discuss what this forum needs?

I resigned the mod job, and I wouldn't be a mod again in this forum even if I was paid 100 pounds a week. I too have an opinion about what was going on back then, but past is past, and there's no need to talk about it to decide what's good for the forum in the future. There's no need AND I don't feel like it

I do think though that "peasants" vs "all mighty mods" view shouldn't be like that, as the latter are nothing more than peasants like the rest of us, but with an extra work, for which we should be grateful.

I think that extra work can be done by many people here. I think aswell that a "rotation" policy would work well. There should be a pool of well known and balanced posters (there are plenty of that here) and if for instance a mod is busy at a month -real life exists- another could take the job. That would help to see that being a mod is not a special privilege but a job, and that would relief the workload of the current mods --this is a huge forum for 4 mods--.

This mod thingy should be a more natural thing, and shouldn't be treated as the election of the next PM.

I don't think rotating the mods would work TBH Sabre. I think it would just make for more problems like last time. Maybe we could have an appointed deputy who steps in when a Mod goes on holiday or is busy? A lockdown and perhaps one more evening/night time Mod would be my answer. We have only BigMick at the moment(J.Mac when the pubs close  ) and we need some extra cover.

I understand what Lando is saying about calling people names not hurting anyone, but I don't think people should have to put up with death threats , welcome to Hell cr@p, pictures of knives and guns etc etc.
