The depths of ignorance and intolerance on these boards astound me sometimes.
When it comes to the media against LFC, EVERYONE buys into the conspiracy theory. But when it comes to the media against Johnny Foreigner, it would appear that people are more willing to accept the media's version/spin/whatever else the feck you want to call it.
The media in our beloved England and almost the rest of the western world will put a spin on anything, as long as it gains attention, sells papers and increase viewership..... Of course the other part of this conspiracy theory which you need to consider is that most of the world's media is Jewish owned....... people who are not exactly pro-islam are they? Due to their long standing enmity. Bollox, I say.... nationalism, common enemies and religious mumbo jumbo is the last refuge of the scoundrel and the small minded.
Crimes in the name of God has gone on for decades, centuries, eons..... Every religion barring possibly Buddhism (which is not even a religion I'm told) has been embroiled in some form of abhorrent atrocities..... No one is clean.
Know your history, understand the xenophobia within and without before making, dare I say it, STUPID, ill-educated, sweeping statements....
I have been working in the Middle East for years and years.... by and large, most muslims I've met have been good, honest and friendly folk who have treated us with understanding and respect. Of course, there are always the bad apples who give they whole barrel a rotten odour. How different is that from white Christian members of the KKK?
The horror that people perpetrate is always more newsworthy than the good.... have you not noticed?
For me, I cannot comprehend the right by which some people have judged 1 billion followers of Islam as evil and tarred them ALL with the blood smeared brush of the insane, fundamentalists.
Me da always said that the quickest way to start a fight between differing peoples is to talk about religion.... I'm sad to see that in the 3 decades since he taught me, the world hasn't changed and the lessons hold as true today as did then.
