You've probably heard about this already like...but wtf is it with these?  Common sense anyone?  Why should the poor woman be lashed for such a trivial error of judgement as this. Surely the authorities there can see past the supposed 'blasphemy' on the name of their prophet and treat this with a bit of sense...this f**ked up world gets ever more laughable by the day. U cannot confuse the laws the Sharia with how those laws are implemented.  The women should not be punished as it was not her choice to name the bear muhammed and she actually recommended a name for the bear. 

The sharia is not outdated or backwards its those in power that do not implement it properly.  Sudan is just another state on the long list of Islamic countries ruled by tinpot despots who only use Islam when it suits there needs.

No Islamic country in the world implements the sharia and they all choose their own laws.

What a shame. A scouse woman that probably goes to Sudan for humanitarian reasons, to help to combat the lack of education, and treated that way.

But I don't think the problem lies in the religion. Religion do not legislate to put people in jail, it's the government.

IMHO Blaming islam would be like blaming our religions for all the bad things our governments and before that Kings made in the name of religion. They used religion as a PRETEXT.

The religion per se is not a problem, interested interpretations of religions is the problem.
