I'm looking to buy a pair of 'beats by dre' headphones from eBay US and they are gonna cost me £170 inc P&P via UPS, problem is that I'm worried about getting stung with a massive import duty/tax bill when they arrive, does anyone have any experience in this because if their gonna tax me about £40 I may as well pay £230 and get them off a UK website.  ???

I think there are a few dodgyish websites who will buy it for you in the US and send it to you in a brown package but you take your chances with these guys. You're better off buying it form the UK then you get the warranty etc and peace of mind.

Google 'bundle box'. Open up an account with them (which is free) and they supply you a US address to post it to. Once it arrives therethey will post it to you at a dicounted rate. Im not sure how they manage to discount it so much but I think it's via some corporate rate.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

that sounds cool, I wonder if that means I can finally get my Falcon super PC :-)

ah maybe not, it's just a shipping service, you still have to pay VAT etc, still good though. www.bundlebox.com

i bought a camera off an american website a couple of years back. never had any bother with customs, it came in a plain package with a 'gifts, handle with care' sticker or something on it.

i've never had a problem with ebay sellers in the US, they'll often mark it as a gift or a sample without even being asked. the only time i've been hit with import duty is when buying from an established business.
