ok i admit defeat.    (only in your case though) just hope like you say the forum gets back to having a laugh, as an when required!

some posts recently have made me p1ss me self laughing which is brill, but for me there's too much PC these days, not just on this forum but in life in general, which puts me off posting regular on here these days, especially after a game when some posts just wind me up! an i think why did i bother coming on here- nothing stops me celebrating a win ever,but some on here try their best to throw a spanner in the works, it's just not on, so instead of running the risk of a card or ban i just log off, which defeats the object of the whole thing in the first place.

glad though to see the so called 'strike' is off, pity that their are some excellant,knowledgable LFC fans that have in the past gone on strike ,never to return- for me that's a bigger issue on here, than weather or not people feel thet have been treated un-fairly, after all wer'e all supposed to be grown up's ffs, it's just a internet forum at the end of the day- in a grown up world we shouldn't even need mods. (but PC etc these days demands we have them) so i say so be it -they do a thankless task, an fair play to them, cause i couldn't be doing with all the hassle they have day in day out on here. oopps that wasn't very PC of me was it.

Red, I'm not having a go, it's just alot of people are starting to see that basically if a mod don't like you and he's in a bad mood, he'll just card you.

Im not going to speak for the other mods. That is something to ask them yourself. It seems you equate 'moderating' with how many entries (and by which mod) are in that thread?

Which is wholly innacurate. The 'sin-bin' was setup to keep YOU lot informed of notices about any 'noteable' infingements. At least those worthy of the name. It is not chapter and verse for all the decisions taken by the lads. Period. Never will be...It was never intended to be and remains soley a tool for the purpose of clarification, should any mis-interpretation arise.

I dont issue cards based on my relations with anybody.

how about if the mods ask the member that is about to be banned or carded to talk in a thread that only they can see, this will give the member a chance to say why they posted the way they did, it will also stop just one mod banning a member that has been on the forum for sometime, the idea would be if you are banned then you have been banned by all the mods after they have spoken to you.

it might help build trust up again

if this place is going downhill then it isnt because of the mods, its the fooking childish behavior of some of its members.


i wonder how many of the people on that list would be prepared to put there name forward to be considered a mod, not fooking many i bet.

excellent post, but this was always going to happen when the team was struggling. people say it used to be a laugh on here and they are right but that goes for the mods aswell. the fact is back then it was pretty free going on here and the mods themselves spent a lot of time posting on the site. now the mods seem to spend the majority of the time dealing with complaints.

Let me clarify it: Which mod does f*ck all?  Which mod is it that has ruined the forum?  Which mod is it that deserves to be replaced?

And WHY - but please be ready to present the FACTS and not the supposition.

Which one of you lot are going to step up to the plate in order to take on the task (voluntarily and in your own time) and are prepared to accept that, in 6 months time give or take - your name might very well be mud?

Mods should not be invisible for starters, they should be available in case someone needs to talk to them...

And it's just from what I've seen, only certain mods have posted in the carded members bit. (yeah I know, theres alot of non regs who get carded and banend that isnt mentioned)

And some mods seem to swear a lot?
And some mods do seem to take things too eprsonally and just have goes for no reason.

and I'm still waiting to see anything in there about s@ints posting ban, that was never registered...

back in those days there was him basically him and supersub running the whole show with pretty much no bother. ok you still had the odd alterego but they were generally harmless as they just stuck to general chat most of the time. john barnes granny was an excellent footy poster who quit modding back then because he found it too much of a chore even though the flame wars on here were absolutely nothing back then like they are now. now jbg hardly even posts.

Do I have immunity to speak my mind in this thread, I have been carded before for speaking out about the mods, I don't want to walk into another trap like that.

Personally, i log on invisibly - that is the way i do it. Doesn't mean i dont read my inbox or am unreachable....at all. I log on here almost every day, despite working 12 hour shifts etc.. You cannot say that iam not available to respond. Maybe, like most mods - not immediately. But nonetheless the only substance to this point is, you might not know exactly WHEN im online. Which at times has helped me spot early trouble etc...So aside from your own reassurances that there is a mod about - in my case, from my standpoint things work well. Besides i have had no recent alerts/queries from you anyway...if i had, they would have been addressed at the 'earliest opportunity'

Again, i mentioned this issue before - moderating this site should not be relative to the entries made in the 'sin-bin' - which as you rightly say, is more a kind of noticeboard for the regulars. A heck of a lot of unmentionables pass through here during any given week...there isnt need to post about them. Equally, it is simply an additional tool for clarification. All the 'real' business between the mods actions is already discussed in the 'Boot-room' - which IS hidden from the main boards.

So f*cking what - I mean come on, really?  At the end of the day, expletives are NOT the best way to communicate, I for one can readily attest to that. At least not in order to convey a point with true clarity, intellect or composure. But we are mostly adults here, most of us work with 'other' adults and as such, engage in 'adult' conversation. Be it in the ale-house, at the game, in work/college/university etc...you simply cannot fail to hear that. Doesn't make it 'right' - but nonetheless, it is a feature of dialogue between human beings. Unfortunate as that may be - especially around children. In summary there are far less things to be concerned with than someones language. Tone, inflection etc and INTENT are slightly different issues. They are dealt with in light of their context. And before you think of it - iam FULLY aware of certain members 'General demeanor' - there is no need to be discusing them here

That is of course, directly related to the persona of each mod. You cant account for someone else's behaviour. All you hope to be able to achieve is a standard which is acceptable to all parties. Besides, we are ALL subject to Life and all its detritus....a bad day is equally pertinant to a 'mod' as well as a normal member. In truth i dont believe there is any victimisation going on here - simply the cause and effect of dealing with yer lot on a daily basis, added to the bollox that can happen on here. I dont see any of the mods as cantankerous buggers who are throwing their weight around, picking on anyone. Humans will retaliate though if provoked yes....if that answers your point.
