My missus works for the local hospital, and they've been doing a fundraiser recently.

They've written to every premiership club, and Newcastle, Arsenal, Sh!tski, Blackburn, West Ham, Watford, Charlton, Fulham, Man City, Middlesborough & Spurs have all sent something in, signed shirts, team photos etc.

But not Liverpool!

I'm sorry but much as I love this club, WTF are they doing?

I always thought we were a charitable club, but now I'm not so sure.

It wasn't just looked over, cos I made my missus get another letter sent, as I couldn't believe they'd be so tight. The 2nd time they got a letter saying it was club policy not to give out any merchandise.

I really think this is sh!tty of them, it was to build a new burns unit, not just for someones personal gain.

Just thought I'd put how I feel in words, they say it helps to talk about it.

we wrote off to the club just over a year ago to see if they would send a player to see my nephew who was in hospital at the time with kidney trouble, they didnt send a player but they did send him a gift pack and a certificate.

the club do have people who deal with these things but i cant remember the address, who did you write off to, i know it should`nt matter and your letter should of been passed on.

im surprised by your outcome.

I'm really surprised, I contacted the club Re: our phildrummer by email on the sunday (this is before the world cup kicked off), I had a call from the department the next day, they contacted Karen within 48 hours of my emai and had sent phil some stuff. I'm, astonished by the response you 'claim' you got. :O

The club are inundated by 100's of requests a week.. and they deal with every single one. Obvioulsy they need to be sure of authenticity of requests, but if you could provide it to them I'm sure they could have done something

I've no experience of trying to sort anything out like this and requesting this kind of thing from footie clubs but I have heard something about them being very careful about sending signed shirts and stuff out. It's not that they don't want to help charities but it's all down to knob'eads faking requests to get signed stuff and then flogging 'em on ebay. Like zara says though if you can prove your genuine then I'd be amazed if the club still refused to help.
