these ones are great picks. the cardiacs were one of those incredibly talented bands that never really seemed to get picked up by the music press and never really got any recognition. great band to see live though.

that violent femmes album is probably one of the best albums ever and stereolab have always been one of the most sophisticated acts out there.

:buttrock

The Cardiacs are one of the best bands ever to come out of Britain and a band that crosses genres too. I first started listening to them in my metal days, many moons ago. Journos are always trying to label them, but I think the can't be labeled.

They're still going too, but the frontman had a heart attack in 2008 (ironically).

Are the Arctic Monkeys big on your side of the pond?  My Brother in law gave me a CD he burned for my 1200mile (one way) trip to Disney World.  The wife and I started with the Beatles box set (that took us through North Carolina, from New Jersy)  the we put the Arctic Monkeys CD in, kept playing over and over.  Great Stuff!!

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Personally can't stand them, maybe I'm getting too old now for these 'yoof' bands. They are good but they are no different to bands like Milburn who you should check out as well
