I was truly shocked when I heard this.

At least the guy died doing what he loved. I loved watching his shows. No one can ever replace him.

i dont feel sorry for him one bit but i do feel for the wife and family he left behind. steve and the other people like him have been asking for this for a long time and now its finally happened we should all feel sad, c`mon admit it when you watched his shows i bet you wanted the croc or the snake to get him.

i lost all respect for this guy when he was shown taking his baby into a croc compound.

by the way we lost another soldier today to a suicide bomber.

I was very sad to hear this news, still can't believe it.
Loved 'The Crocodile Hunter Diaries'. Feel awful for his wife and little children who were also shown in the series.
I admired his passion for wildlife and conservation and it must have been wonderful for him to work in this field.
It's such a sad waste of what I think was a brilliant man and such a terrible tragedy for his family.

Steve Irwin died doing the job he loved, preserving and protecting but most of all conserving animal life. The guy in his field was the best and he will be sadly missed worldwide not just in his homeland.

your quote about the soldier dying by a suicide bomber deserves feck all respect in here.I agree its sad and shouldn't be happening but that young soldier also chose to be doing the job he is doing and knew the risks involved.

Difference being this is a thread about Steve Irwin, who i dont think was involved in the war on terror at all, unless he had some secret plan to launch salt water crocs at bin laden, but to be honest i think its just something that should be kept out of tribute threads.

hats off to steve irwin, a bit of a spoon but couldn't help but like the guy :)

tell you what though it proves the karma theory of in life what comes around goes around - he spends most of his (tv) life agitating and winding up some of the angriest creatures on the planet only to get killed by one of the most placid :wwww

Shocking news.

Nuttier than a packet of KP's, but will be missed for his endearing zany antics and wacky methods of educating people.

I salute you, Steve.

It's a sad loss.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone so passionate about animals as he was.

Rest in Peace Steve.

I've read today that he's gonna have his death shown on telly, which he always said he wanted.

I felt really sad when I heard the news! such a funny guy.. I used to watch his documentaries on Animal Planet, a very entusiastic and self confident guy! I really wish his Family well, The guy has children who aren't even 10 yet... it is going to be really hard to grow up without a father... R.I.P Steve, The Crocodile Hunter will be missed.

and wow, I never knew Stingrays can cause that much damage :Oo:

Poor guy.

I feel sorry for his wife and kids.

Brought a lot of enthusiasm to his work and obviously loved nature and cared greatly for the cause of conservation.

He'll be missed for certain.

RIP Steve.
