No disrespect to Steve but sting rays are very placid creatures, it wouldnt surprise me if he was " In there face " so to speak. Ya know annoying em a bit, either that or he stepped on it. But  hey its Steve Irwin we're talking about , so probably the first comment :D

I thought he was a dick, i lived down the road from australia zoo for years and constantly heard about how the local council wasn't treating him with respect (according S. Erwin). But nevertheless he did so much for australia and north coast economy that he should be missed.

RIP Steve, and condolences to his family.

Of everyone that I have spoken to, there is a general consensus of sadness and the feeling that Australia has lost someone special, an icon.

I never really watched his shows, and as an Australian I thought that his outragous accent was a bit over the top, but anyway.......

R.I.P and my condolences to his family.

:(

I wake up in the morning just to find out that the funniest guy on Animal Planet has died.

:(

Very sad indeed. I'll miss watching his T.V shows.

And watching him molest snakes.

Great guy.

I think, to foreigners, whenever we think of Australia, Steve Irwin is always one of the first things to spring to mind.

Blonde sandy hair, freckled cheeks, yellow teeth, and a hilarious accent.. yes.. he will be missed by millions of people like me who watch his show when there is nothing else on T.V.

I am totally shocked, i really love watching his programmes...i like wildlife type of programmes anyway but he made them intersting for people who dont really like that sort of thing.
He was one crazy man and i am sure that at least he died doing something that he loved so much.
R.I.P Steve  :(
