Congrats Norn Ireland.
I am a bit worried about Alonso TBH.

Very true!!

Alonso should have never been on the pitch....this was evident from early in the game!

The fact he gifted us a goal, took wild shots that were miles off target and his ball distribution was poor..make me think that he should never have been played tonight!
Its another caes of selfish international management that cares nothing for players clubs. Its not as if Spain are short of midfielders!

Alonso looked in pain in the later stages of the game and was a shadow of himself all night!
Raffa should be livid...theres no way he will start on Saturday!

Xavi and Alonso disturb each other. Alonso had a poor game, so did Xavi who didn't take well a single corner and made bad passes aswell. There's no decent system, again, don't worry about him, I'm pretty honest when I have to admit the flaws of my fav player/team (this thread proves it), so believe on this one.

Unlucky Sabre..but a good game!

Dont worry though mate..Spain will qualify for sure!We needed those points more than you did tonight. Our players needed to gain respect after Saturday when they got booed off the pitch!
I just cannot understand our team?
Loosing 3-0 to Iceland and then beating Spain 3-2...dont say Spain were poor, yes maybe not full power but it was a full blooded match that was won because we wanted and needed it more!

Any way i doubt we will qualify for the finals...but at least we can talk about beating Spain for about 20 years!
Our players and fans alike know they are limited in ability..we are a country of about 1.8 million people, half of which are not eligable to play because of unfortunate circumstances!
Thats why when we beat Spain and England its like winning the world cup!!

He's not at his best, but I'm not worried because he'll be allright soon, at his standards.

Hmmmmmmmmm, cant help but feel that Madrid turned his head in the summer TBH.
I know he loves it here, but can we keep him?
I dont think so.
I personally dont think he looks well, but maybe thats just me.
I hope to god he is happy at LFC but he wont stick around for long, they never do.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Would'nt be the end of the world if he went!Although i want him to stay.

He's a good if not great player..but C/M are a lot easier to replace than a lot of other positions!Personally i dont feel he wants to go anywhere...he was just unfit tonight and should never have been played...his performance showed this!

How old is David Healy? Im amazed he hasn't been snapped up by a premiership club. What's his goal record like at club level?

Hes mostly been a sub at Leeds albeit a good one! Scores a lot for minutes on the pitch i guess....tonight was special though!

I said it earlier..it hurt our players getting beat on Sat and getting booed off! The Norn Irn fans dont expect much..all we want is effort and hard work, nothing more!
Tonight our players wanted to get back respect and they went the extra mile..great result!

He's just turned 27. He's scored a bucketful for Norn Iron. He hasn't been as prolific for Leeds or Preston, probably less than 1 in every 2 appearances. It would be nice to see him get a go in one of the lower Premiership clubs.

Brilliant atmosphere in Windsor tonight. Far better play, than at the weekend - there always seemed to be a belief that NI could get a result.

I didn't think we'd win it though.  :buttrock

When Healy was at Man utd, people were telling me he was better than Beckham :D Ferguson thought otherwise

Great result tonight, on my way home i was seeing scarves and flags outve car windows -i thought we mustve got a draw . I still say windsor is a hard place to come to for any team (especially glentoran)

Roll on 2030 til we get another night like this  :D

I'm happy for the Irish because that will feed their passion for the team for a long time, I even saw a scarf of Northern Ireland 1982... I liked that.

Spain will struggle now, but we have the quality to beat Iceland at their own home, if we sort things out. Don't worry about Alonso, btw.

1982 is recognised as NI's most famous victory. I still expect Spain to qualify without too much trouble Sabre, mate.

Bloody hell the negativeness of that, who says hes going to leave anytime soon, i havent seen any indication that he is unhappy, he is in pretty bad form lately yeah but i dont see that being an indication he wants to go elsewhere..

Respect where it is due, that was a fantastic performance and result tonight Barry. The fans were magnificent as well.Us southerners have sang "there's only one team in Ireland" in the past.

Well, you northerners have every right to sing it tonight.

Northern Ireland are the best team in Ireland.....FACT. :)

If he wanted to leave then imo he would had done so. He's stated this summer that he was happy, and so has his agent. He didn't consider the bid from Madrid, neither did his agent or the club.

Every season Xabi has a slow start to the season, this is no different.
