hes as cocky as shumacker was but he doesnt deserve. he was basically born to drive the best car. you got to earn your right to be the best i reckon, shouldnt be handed to you on a plate. alonso has been given no help by the team, and hamilton has been overheard calling the slower drivers 'cretins' who wont get out of his way. would be ncie to see him brought down a peg or two.

I cant believe you want Alonso to win as far as im concerned hes a grass. Hamiilton is English and an exellent driver who deserves to be where he his.
If he drives to day like its just another race he will win but if he drives to go for the title he could make a mistake
HE WHO BETRAYS WILL ALWAYS WALK ALONE

Dawson I think you're being a bit unfair there IMO. The lad has worked his way up through the different grades like karting, the minor level formula's and GP2 to reach where he is now. His family have sacrificed a lot to help him get there and I say good luck to him. What you may see as being cocky I think others will see as being immense belief in his ability which is what you need to succeed in F1.

As for the situation with Alonso, I feel that Alonso is the one whose done the dirty in that situation and he's acted like a spoilt little brat throwing his toys out the pram just because everyone in the team haven't been bending over backwards to suit him.

There is something about Hamilton I can't take to as a person but as a F1 driver I think what he's achieved so far has been frickin awesome and having grown up watching Mansell and then Damon Hill I think it's great to have another Brit challenging  for the top honour in F1 again so he's got my full backing today to show Alonso and the feckin boring get Raikkonen that the new kid in town deserves more respect by becoming World Champion.

When did you overhear Hamilton?  :D

I would contend the opposite, that Alonso has been (reportedly) the cocky one, p!ssed off that a Rookie has come in and taken the limelight in his first season in F1.

They (McLaren) made a pigs ear of it for sure. Hamiltons poor start was down to anxiety i guess...but the Championship was lost before this race even had a chance to give him any edge today, which was duly frittered away anyway.

Good, tight 3 way battle though has kept some much needed life in the sport for a while yet. Another year then for Hamilton, who earns every bit of my respect for his exploits on the track in this, his inaugural F1 adventure. Should have had it in the bag though. Experience will help him realise that down the line.

Unbelievable.

Had his engine not cut out, he probably would have recovered to at least 5th place, and from there gone on to win the Championship.

It's a team sport, Hamilton was relying on the mechanical side of the team to provide him with a reliable car.

They couldn't do it, and as a result he lost.
