zarababe, look back at red si comments on page 4. supersub edited the part out about muslims, i was trying to point out that muslims should not be used in that way. it was not meant to be a reference that muslims are bad. i spent two years in egypt teaching english as a foreign language to people who couldnt afford the private schools there and can speak arabic. so you see the comment was initially referenced by someone else, and i didnt think it should have been made. i have many arab friends in egypt and the middle east and am fully versed in the ways of islam. ok

Anyone with a brain knows that it is just man-made nonsense.
I do believe in God, I am not an Atheist or anti-religious but I despair about certain oppressive religions.

Oppression is caused by the so-called keepers of the faith.. no religion is forced upon anyone.. I understand the pressure on young people from those communities and the conflict it causes re: western values.... but general statements are not helpful...

Religion is there to guide as well as be obeyed... but this should be an individual choice..

I tend to blow my top when any bigotry.. racist or religious etc enters the fray... lets all get on and help those who suffer racism or those (like your m8's) who are called-upon to adopt religious practices they don't believe in or fancy practising

Well I travelled through Iran ,Afghanistan and Pakistan in the seventies and personally I found the average Muslim to be a generous and welcoming individual but the way the women were treated was nothing short of sinister and medieval.
This was difficult to digest .
