South Africa has the most Great White Sharks in the world, they are protected there aswell, beautiful animal maybe next year thats where I will go for my hols its always been my dream to see a GW before I die.

i have heard that it has one of the best climates in the world and beautiful nature but that it is unsafe for tourists.

Was talking with a South African friend who still lives in South Africa. He's advising all overseas friends that the world cup is going to be party time for criminals in South Africa. Many visitors will be totally unprepared for the audacious nature of the criminals and the levels violence they will encounter.

one example he quoted.

"Armed assailants robbed at least five international tour groups. Some of the tour groups have been attacked en route to their hotels from O.R. Tambo Airport and others have been robbed in hotel lobbies. One group of foreign guests were robbed in the lobby of the Protea Wanderers Hotel. The gunmen fled with laptops, wallets, passports and cell phones. That same day, tourists were robbed at the Hilton. A tourist was robbed in Houghton after arriving directly from the O.R. Tambo Airport. The suspects apparently followed the tour operator and his client from the airport and forced them off the road at gunpoint, taking luggage, money, and the client's passport. Another group of tourists were robbed of their luggage and valuables as they arrived at the Formula One Hotel in Wynberg."

Of course during the world cup thousands and thousands of tourists will not become victims of crime buts hundreds and hundreds undoubtedy will . Despite it's many fine building and fantastic locations be aware that out on the streets South Africa can be a very dangerous place.

Yeah I was wondering about that. To be honest im surprised SA was even allowed to get the world cup. They have so much crime over there.

Anyway if anything bad happens it will just look bad on Blatter. Also they want the next World Cup in Brazil. Id love to go to that but there is quite a bit of crime there too. Their reasoning is probably there will be too many people to rob. lol
