:Oo: not very funny really

depends whether you have a sense of humour or not i suppose

or maybe its not funny to people who may have a chinese background so maybe best thing would be to refrain from racist jokes when you dont know what people will find funny and what people will find offensive - ie show some common sense

im pretty sure plenty people have a sense of humour but most realise what can easily be offensive and what cant .

wind your neck in mate - no offense meant.

wont wind my neck in at all with someone posting a comment which i feel and im sure others feel is racist - we have the spanish at the moment with the pics of them making slant eyes and everyone condeming them for being racist - your pathetic little joke is pretty much along the same lines and sick humour . so suggest have a little think before posting :censored: liek and that realise who you could be upsetting .

chill dude

sorry mate just my brother married a chinese girl and i have a chinese nephew and find it extremely insulting - just like what the spanish are doing with their pictures.

so if your brother hadnt married a chinese bird would you still find it offensive, it seems your offense is based purely on this. before he married her did you go around defending chinese people?

my bird is thai of chinese decent and i found it funny (just as she finds things funny and doesn't need others to be offended on her behalf), but then again my underpants are not too tight so i have not lost the ability to laugh.

anyway back to the games

yes i would of found it offensive no matter what - i just think people should be more careful these days as its hard to know who you will upset or what people will find offensive and what people will find racist.

and there lies the problem mate, i am surprised you even strike up conversations with anyone for fear of offending them since people like you make it ok for pathetic beings to be offended by the simplest of things or say they are offended. seriously people will be scared to open their mouths soon.

that said, the spain basketball team, i found that in poor taste to their hosts, however i wasnt offended by it as i am not chinese.

no offence intended mate but there is no need for you to go through life being offended for others when you are not even sure they are offended by it themselves, i am sure the chinese have their own jokes about us (their belief is that we all smell of dairy products as an example), singaporeans call us ghosts because we are white and

physical features are purely that mate and people joke about them, however i agree that there needs to be some control and if a chinese person was offended by a comment then i would apologise, however if someone was offended on behalf of a chinese person i would tell them to get of their soap box.

anyway just a difference of opinion, not worth arguing about. you have your beliefs and i hve to respect that

why are people pathetic beings thou if they find something offensive ?

we are all different in the world and we all live in the same place and have to be tolerant of each other and respect that some things you might find funny other people wont. there is still plenty of space for banter and humour just got to be mindful and have common sense to realise it might upset or offend someone .

the point i m making is one raised by yourself, you never know what is offensive to others yet you say you have to be careful what you say.

the fact is if i met you in the street how on earth would i know you would be offended on behalf of china? do you see what i m getting at.

sadly there are pathetic people who get offended on behalf of others, this is where the problem lies mate and this is why i say i am surprised you even talk to anyone as you dont know who is offended. where do we draw the line, dont talk about my dinner of met in case i m talking to  veggie, dont talk about milk in case the other person knows someone who knows someone who was run over by  milk float.

sorry mate i think the problem here lays with the oversensitivity of the supposed offended person rather than the person making a light hearted quip.

I'm offended by the over use of the quote button

Did he go flat out for the whole thing this time or did he pull up again at the end? :D

Starting to wonder just what makes this guy so fast.  Commentator the other night (during the build up to the 200M semis) said that he and this American runner used to be neck and neck in terms of results at meets.  Now, the American can't touch Bolt. ???  Don't want to speak out of turn or anything but if I were an IOC official, I know who I'd have p!ssing in a bottle right about now. :D
