Pi.sses me off when some scousers get high and mighty about the fact that LFC is their local club and no one else has a right to follow them.  Bottom line is that LFC would be far less supported and therefore far less wealthy without their massive fan base in Ireland and further afield.  And the reason the bitters slag the local reds off about their international support is because they're jealous of it.

Of course born and bred scousers will have more of an affinity with the club because it's their home town, it's only natural.  But to make a comment like that is pathetic.  People like you should count yourselves lucky that people from Belfast and elsewhere choose to follow your club.  To.sser

There are the Big two, Glentoran and Linfield, then Cliftonville and then Crusaders, who have just won the 1st Division and have been promoted to the Carnegie Premier League. Yes, we do have a Premier League.

In September and October of 1967 Glentoran played two games against the mighty Benfica and Eusibio in the European Cup. They were given little chance of escaping without heavy defeats.
Despite the odds against them the Glens produced two magnificent performaces that for those that were fortunate enough to witness them must rank as 'their greatest hours' of watching the Glens.
The Glens held Benfica to a 1-1 draw at the Oval and then went to the Stadium of Light in Lisbon and once again held Eusebio and company, this time to a scoreless draw only bowing out on the away goals rule.
