MH, I was in Bangalore....home of the outsourced world...and to some of the poorest creatures I have ever seen. Man, what a humbling experience.
Saw some beautiful sights as well, but it's the poorest of the poor that sticks in my mind.

Welcome back mate, yeah India, there are some amazing sights to be seen there but the grinding poverty makes a visit to India very hard work. I've been a few times and it just doesn't seem to get any easier. When you get to the point were you're so fed up with the beggars that you're telling a fella with no legs or hands to "Koff" you know it's time to get out of there.

Tell me about it mate. Though I wanted to give to every poor person, the locals warned me that I would incite a mini-riot if I did, so reluctantly I didn't throw a few rupees to those in need. Coming back home and seeing just what we have makes me realise how lucky we are.....by a pure stroke of fate.

Well thank god you didn't go to Mumbai then, you would have ended in a sh!t storm there, and I mean it literally.  :D

For "1st world people" Mumbai (Bombay) is a low level intro to India, at times shocking but it doesn't compare with (for instance) places like Calcutta where trucks go round each morning to pick up the dead, throwing them onto the back like refuse sacks .

Well I didn't see THAT in Bangalore....unless it happened while I was tucking into a Chicken Jalandhari in the hotel....
Man, that's hard to believe...
