I remember seeing OldBoy pre-fame and it was well worth spending all the extra on it

the other one I overspent on was Princess Aurora, that never came out here for years, very harsh film

By rest of the country you mean Barry , Andy G and three other people ?

:D .

btw Andy your ideas' not far off base. I bought "They fought for the Motherland  (Russian war movie) for £22, five days later it was on sale £6 ! Fortunately I always keep reciepts and I was back up there the next day with my copy , told them "I didn't realise it was subtitled I thought it was dubbed". Got my money back, then bought the £6 copy .    :D

don't be including me in your 'rest of the country' shtick. i'm an honorary foreigner and perfectly happy with my lot. on the other hand if you need further financial advice i'd be only too happy to help.

Yeah yer b'stard, you harped on about that one for ages. I couldn't get it via my Hong Kong supplier and finally found it at HMV for £16 . Which given the content was about £11 too much  .

On the other hand some of your other recommendations "Dongmakul"  "Cyborg"  and "Bitter Sweet Life" were well worth the spend so we're still mates.

I loved Aurora, it had the darkest ending I've ever seen in a film!

woof woof ! wrote:Good production values Babu BUT think i saw a fella in a sarong plus pants attempting a "roundhouse" kick ! sorry mate, just looked so Fu*king "gay" to me, reminded me of all those hindi movies where the "hero" wears mascara and lipstick while he cries on to his mothers blouse. Maybe it's a cultural thing but I couldn't connect with this at all .

OK, I'm only going by the trailer but there's no invention in there at all. Take a look at some of the stuff being produced next door in Thailand, some real invention and jaw dropping "haven't seen that before" action.

Doubt if I'll be looking out for HAQ which is a pity because as far as the production is concerned the film making technical ability is obviously there, unfortunately it's wasted on a pi'ss poor emulation of a thousand movies we've already seen.

Surely Malaysia with it's rich history has more to offer ?

Woof,

thanks mate, that's really good feedback. I just sent it to the director, first bit of truthful feedback we have recieved.

Just a note: yes the stuff coming out of Thailand is good, but their market is so much bigger. We need the malaysian moving going public to watch this twice each for us to break even on the costs of making the movie.

Having said that, with this movie under our belt, we will attempt to do something more innovative in the next movie. Its easier to get funding with a completed movie as trackrecord.

You must have seen this Woof? It's mint. Unbelievably done in one take with one camera.

 , Yeah I remember that one St Mike, some of the choreography's a bit iffy, some missed kicks and punches that still had an effect  . But you've gotta take your hat off to the director for having the nuts to just go for it.
