Watched a wierd Japanese Sword/Fantasy movie last night called Dororo. About a guy who's body has been divided amongst 48 demons. He has to kill them all to claim his body parts back . Corny in parts and they could have spent a bit more on the CGI BUT I was totally hooked , 2hrs 15 mins of popcorn eating fun.  :D

Although the movie is subtitled I couldn't find a subtitled trailer for you guys but a picture speaks a thousand words and all that .

Been awhile since I've watched an asian movie worth commenting on BUT ( :D ) the other day I spent £5 on a dvd called "Chocolate".

Briefly it's a thai martial arts movie made by the same fella's that did Ong Bak, storywise it's pretty thin.
from Beyond Hollywood"
"Chocolate is an autistic girl who learns how to fight both by absorbing her martial arts skills from what she sees on TV and from the Muay thai boxing school next to her home. When she finds a list of debtors in her sick mother’s diary, she decides to go collecting. Her quest leads her to confrontations with criminal gangs and also her father, a member of the Japanese mafia.

That about sums it up as far as the plot is concerned but who gives a f'uck about the plot when the inventive choreography of the fight scenes border on sheer genius.
Sure there's some cgi in the movie (as in nearly every action movie nowadays) but you have to tip your hat to these fella's (over a dozen were hospitalised whilst making the movie) the action is virtually non stop and I found myself smiling with pleasure as the choreographers employed every move you've ever witnessed in a fight scene plus a couple of dozen you haven't.

Loved every popcorn eating minute of it  Image

Often wonder how much training the "extra's" in these movies have to do. The co-ordination required in some of those battle scenes is staggering.

Even with cgi the complexity and scale of some chinese epics is amazing.
