Right from the start.

I run a forum for my work mates to log on and chat while they are in work because my company used to have one but they took it away after people got accused of bullying and harassment on it.

The other night, just before Harry Potter was due to go on sale, a forum user PM'ed me with the title, "Why do you" and when I clicked on it, it was a page description of when characters got killed in the book. I seen my :censored:

big time and took away his PM rights for two weeks.

He got a titty on today and told me I was a di.ckhead and to shove my "wa.nk forum" and for his account to be deleted, which I did.

Some are saying I have acted harshly because its only a book but I keep reminding them he asked for his account to be deleted.

Am I being harsh?

no your not mate.. i hate it when your very interested in a book and then someone tells you what happened, it p!sses me off too, you did the right thing.

somenoe told me the ending to the 6th sense before id seen it, so it was always a cack film for me. Books are even better than films tho, and if someone told me the ending to a book (no matter how gay a book it is rafa) then i dont think u were harsh enough.

IMO a bit petty if it was for him trying to ruin the book for you, which if you have now read it you will know he failed, but as you said if he requested in not so polite terms that you delete his account then fair enough.

Maybe in hindsight you could have just warned him about his conduct in future but if he insisted it be deleted then all you did is what he asked you to do.

Get him to explain that he asked you to do it so the other people know

I think you've been very lenient with him....he was obviously spoiling for a fight....
What a horrible thing to do to you...

He was lucky you didn't delete his account first off....(you were being nice to him only banning him for two weeks....)

He deserves all he gets, sounds like the sort of WUM you just don't need... :no

I like my books and have only just made it through the Dark Tower series (it's taken me nearly two years) and if some idiot Pm'ed me an runied the ending on purpose i'd punch em in the face.

I would have simply kicked him off the forum all together. If you don't read books it's probably not an issue but Harry Potter fans are pretty hardcore (just witness people at the Open golf last week reading in between shots to see) so this guy new he was being an A-hole.

a bit of shit stirring is not allowed on your forum? its just unlucky that he managed to hit a raw nerve is all.

Sounds to me like he was just having a laugh, but still.

If he asked for his account to be deleted, then it's his own tough sh*t. If you're getting cr*p off people for doing it - tell them to get f*cked off and mind their own business.
