Will defend him to the end - and watching him todayand the reaction and thanks is exactly why - he knows what it means to be a Liverpool fan and he feels our heartbreak

I don't know if this is the best place, but I wouldn't want to start a new thread about it ... have you watched his interview (three segments) on Yahoo Eurosport ?

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/video....ng.html

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/video....ue.html

Some answers made me smile ...

totally agree Mick, seeing him cry set me off. He loves us, he deserves our recognition. Just the fact he still shows his respect means he knows what Hillsborough is to Liverpool FC. He's one of us

RAFA

That man is so special. He is forever Liverpool.

Question him tactically , question him as a manager by all means but be in no doubt atall that the man loves the club and the city. He did and does get us . There's nothing wrong in thinking he wasn't good enough as a manager , there's everything wrong in thinking he wasn't good enough as a man . It is personal .

Top fella, rare to see him show that kind of emotion, the only other time I can think of was when he left Valencia so it just shows you how much he took the whole history and heritage of the club to heart. When he takes on a job the guy gives it his heart and soul and like Igor said you may question his decisions in football but that for me shows his qualities as a man.

Hope he gets another chance to show what a good coach he can be (though not in the feckin premier league :D  )

Reg, I had already posted all three links to Rafa's interview on Eurosport (it is a bigger interview split in three).

I have noticed that the players who are now gradually introduced to the first team from the Academy are getting a lot better than before ?

I would say that it is only now we see the benefits of Rafa's work in this department. Would you ?

Definitly.  The guy loves the club and he was always working for the long term good of the club even though the previous owners made it very difficult to achieve any short term success.
