Luis Suarez signs for Barcelona

International Football/Football World Wide - General Discussion

Postby RED BEERGOGGLES » Thu Feb 03, 2011 2:09 am

I posted this in my summary of the game earlier so I will repeat it here...
So to the  debut of Luis Suarez whose skill alone and running off the ball had me drooling in my seat ....the Lad shows the perception and  football brain akin to Van De Vart and I have the feeling he will soon be the player every top club will deem the one that got away ..... genuinely excited about this little South American he's going to set the Premiership on fire ... who said the Kops jumping days are over this Lad had me leaving my seat regularly  :D

His first touch were sublime, so positive.
Can't wait to see him play again.

I thought he did well.  You could tell he was nervous, as he should have been, but after getting a couple touches on the ball I thought he was great.  Was actually moving the ball around quite well, knew where his mates where very well considering he hasn't trained with them yet.  Was luck that the goal went in, but he's learned his lesson and next time it will be cleaner.  Looks class to me and I can't wait to see him against chelsea.  Goal will help with his confidence, and it was great to see Andy Carroll give his first real smile at the club after Suarez got it in.  You can just tell that he can't wait to get the same reaction from the fans as Suarez did.  Suarez seems a real Class player. :)

bright start...
Most encouraging was his movement off the ball and how he always looks to attack spaces rather than get caught up tangling with CBs... Seems to be the sort of forward who would create a lot of chances for players around him... Keep it up Luis !

Show some excellent touches and great awareness last night. Took his goal well too. Can't wait to see him on Sunday. He must start.

He hasn't started since early December, will be 2 months by the time the Chelsea game rolls around.  I really want him to start, but for some reason I'm getting the feeling that he won't, considering he's probably lacking match fitness quite a bit. :(

He seemed so excitable and ready to go tho... I really hope he starts.

He needs a few weeks of intensive training so I can't see him starting for a few games. Impact sub until then.

Great to see him get a goal. Takes a bit of pressure of him but not to much if you know what i mean. Just hoping it isn't too long before he gets to play with Carroll they should do the business.

Good little debut wasn't it! LFC.TV put up a little clip showing all of his touches from the game and in what has become quite a stagnant side from an attacking point of view, he looks to be exactly what we need. He looks quick, nimble, technically excellent and clever on the ball. It's only 27 minutes but i'm really excited to this what this lad can do and he's already got the monkey off his back with a goal in front of the Kop so it couldn't have started much better. Can't wait to see him play (hopefully from the start) this Sunday!

I think weve seen enough in that little cameo to suggest he should play some part on Sunday. Id prefer if he starts to keep the momentum going rather than come on later if we go behind.
