lol..crouch was harldy superb mate. sorry to say this but he was woeful,. bad touch, bad passing, just had a real bad game
I thought he did well. He was able to do what Rooney couldn't - hold the ball up. He frustrated Portugals central defenders and won almost all of the long-ball headers. I think he was one of the main reasons England looked like a better team with 10 men. He even got back and covered the midfield when they were caught on the break. I agree that at times he could have got in on goal if his touch had been better, but overall I thought he was superb.

dawson99, why was crouch bad? If we didnt hard crouch on, i think we could have been killed off befoer extra time, he held the ball and i think that was all we needed, that is to waste time and possibly set up an attack or so.

I'm gutted. Absaloutly gutted. Rooney let everyone down. But I don't think the referee was going to do anything until the Portugal players crowded the referee. That wink from Ronaldo turned my stomach. TBH I blame Sven. If he doesn't play 4-5-1 then Rooney is not isolated, he doesn't get annoyed with his performance and therefore doesn't lash out. But some may argue that it was rooney because he shouldn't have lashed out. If it was anyone he did that to though I'm glad it was Carvalho (even though stamping on Ronaldos b0llocks would have been better
I thought that the Liverpool players, Crouch and Gerrard and also non liverpool players like Lennon did the country proud today. It's a shame, I thought the penalty curse would have been broken after the team fought to keep the scores level and even had chances to win. With penalties it's pot luck, put it this way I'd rather have won the F.A. Cup and European Cup on penalties with Liverpool that England win a quarter-final on penalties.
I think Ian Wright got it spot on. England don't do what other teams like Portugal did to us today. We do not bully the referee, we dont' try to get players sent off. We are good professionals. The Portugal fans cannot be proud of their team because they are cheats and not good professionals. I am proud of my country because we battled on even with only 10 men, we got 2 the penalty shoot out and were beaten by a goalie who is great at saving penalties.
Lampard and Joe Cole have been shite all tournament even though commentators have been licking their ar5es. I am proud of the liverpool players. They did us proud.
England never got going through the whole tournament.

i dont know if you noticed but the one trick horrible tw@t of a pony headbutted rooney before the start of the game and he was also instrumental in getting him sent off. i think rooney should rip his head off and sh it down his neck the next time he see's him. Not that i am bitter you understand.
