Fabio Capello has resigned as England manager, the Football Association has confirmed.
Capello resigned after a meeting with FA chairman David Bernstein and general secretary Alex Horne at Wembley.
An FA statement read: "The Football Association can confirm that Fabio Capello has today resigned as England manager."
On Monday, the Italian publicly challenged the FA's decision to strip John Terry of the captaincy.

I think he would be good for it. Good tactician, knockout tournament, respected in Europe. Either him or Mourinho would be good for the job tbh.

But what will happen is everyone will be clamouring for an Englishman. We will get one in who will fail miserably and then it's back to square one. :laugh:

Not a massive fan of Capello, but the hounding of him by our lovely media has been disgusting. In the last few days everything he said was twisted. Imho he was right to object to the Terry situation, I can't stand him, but it's not right to punish someone while allegations are unproven.
