It will be the best chance we have had in twenty years if not longer,i thought the team of 86 with the likes of Lineker,Barnes,Hoddle,Beardsley etc etc.....would do it.We were close in 90,but somewhat fortunate to get to the semis with platts last minute goal against Belgium and two penaltys against Cameroon......If this current team can play at the top of their game then YES we can win it.

There is no team going there who is exceptional in all departments so why not, its wide open Brasil are sensational but are probably capable quite easily of sliping up, but for some reason i just think its high time Spain did something, watching them against england is them at the best and being in Germany i think it could suit them.

Brazil won 8 nil tonight against UAE away from home.....people might think thats no shock, but when you consider they are higher ranked than Northern Ireland and we all know what happened there...lol

No. Argentina or Brasil will win it, but England should get to the semi's. If not it will be shameful.

I can't wait the the great football carnival arrives.. the world cup is so so special.. and watching last nights game made me drool with excitement and anticipation about the football to feast our eyes on next summer.. :)

I disagree Zara, its Englands time and with it being in a climate the same as ours i really think we could go all the way with a bit of luck..(injuries,suspensions etc). This is virtually the same England side who when on the top of their game destroyed Germany over there 5-1.Last night showed for the first time since then ...we do have it in us.

We've got one of the top 5 best teams in the world. The problem is they have been very unpredictable, great against Poland and Argentina and dismal against NI. If they play how they can we have a chnace but with any tournament which is a knock out you have to have some luck.

There's a bit of a difference - the NI v England game was a one off (although I wish it wasn't) - NI would be highly unlikely to go out against Argentina and win 3-2.

NI caught England at a good time - England were playing cr@p!  What was the score in the game at Old Trafford? Can't remember but I think it was 4-0

We have the team, but do some of our players have the attitude and the desire.

If we perform with the team we have we should win it

.. I think the way Engerland played Argentina, highlights the rivalry and passion for this fixture, amongst fans and players.

The danger is Engerland can't 'get it up' for the less sexy fixtures (to coin a phrase).

England have a chance and are amongst 5/6 teams capable of winning it.. but in the shake down I think the Argies or Brasil, will do it.
