Yet he lost Benteke in the last couple of mins which nearly cost us bar a great save from Mignolet. Brilliant isnt a word that should be used to describe any player yesterday bar Sturridges finish IMO.

Toure had a decent game - just like in the first game. If those performances can be described as brilliant then standards have slipped.

Talking rubbish.

Just watched that moment again and you're WRONG Benny, it was Agger who lost Benteke. Agger lost Benteke after a poor header out, Benteke was standing behind Agger and it was Toure who tried to cover his ar.se.

Not the best vid but from the opening shot Benteke floats over behind Agger's left shoulder, blaming Toure is more black propaganda from you Benny lad. 'Trying' to smear Rodgers's signings. Dismissing them or laying the blame at their feet when they were not to blame is low, even by your standards.

6 points from first 2 games against tough opposition which has not been achieved for 4-5 years. In my books that's time to be happy for once & give some praise where its due.

When you reluctantly crawl back into this thread, just put your hand up and acknowledge you were wrong hey.  :;):

Defence was all over the place last night - first goal we let them have two clear headers , no idea why Toure was so deep keeping the guy onside and the marking for the second was poor. Looked very shakey from set pieces and was bullied by a big striker in the second half. Won't have a prayer against the Mancs with Wisdom in the centre - he isn't ready. Hopefully Toures injury isn't a torn groin - that could be months out.

Brendan: Kolo injury doesn't look good

Brendan Rodgers is hopeful Martin Skrtel will be fit in time to face Manchester United on Sunday after admitting he feared the worst over a groin injury sustained by Kolo Toure in the 4-2 win over Notts County.

The Ivorian defender was stretchered off with the game at 2-2 and is now a doubt for the weekend, along with Joe Allen and Aly Cissokho.

Rodgers said: "Kolo Toure, we need to assess it. His groin opened up a wee bit. He overstretched his groin and it doesn't look so good, to be honest."

Skrtel has yet to feature this season due to injury but he could be back for David Moyes' first trip to Anfield as Manchester United manager.

"Yes, he will be fine," said the boss. "Tonight was too soon for him but he's been back training for a few days."

Rodgers also provided an update on the conditions of Allen and Cissokho, who also had to leave the field in Tuesday's League Cup encounter.

"Cissokho was devastated," he said. "He shouldn't be too long. He's got a knock in his ankle. He was distraught to come off in his first start here.

"Joe Allen may well be a hamstring so we'll have a look at that.

"We'll know more in the morning but it wasn't a good night injury-wise."

Not only do you just come into this thread to try and score cheap points by being anally pedantic of Kolo you also fail to retract false allegations against the player. Now you hope Toure is out for months.

Disgusting.

I'd report you for trolling to the SS and the mods, except they condone your behaviour.

I genuinely hope that is a typo from BTN. If it isn't it is a thoroughly horrible thing to say and Benny wonders why people have a go at him. Criticism is one thing. Wishing a relatively serious injury on somebody is a very different matter.

Had that been anyone else I would have thought the same. But seeing as it's him, who's thinks Kolo is a "Joe Cole MkII" and is singling Kolo out for super & fallacious criticism as a way to try and vindicate his opinion on Toure, I believed it to be a genuine remark.

I notice from hundreds of other Reds that the optimism for the Manc game has dropped significantly now, due to Kolo's injury - that tells you what the real fans think of him already in this short amount of time  - such is the positive impression he's made within the team.

Gutted for him. I've always like Kolo Toure. He strikes me as someone who the younger players can look up to and I can see why BR brought him in. How long is he out for?

I think it's fair to say we were always looking for another CB anyway, but now with Kolo injured we will probably bring someone in quicker than planned.

Get well soon Kolo.

Postby red till i die!! » Wed Aug 28, 2013 10:28 am

hopefully the scans dont show a tear and he gets back soon enough.
maybe yakka was right to question his fitness even though i thought it wouldnt be a problem as he looked flying fit up till last night. i suppose his fitness can really be gauged now by the amount of time it takes him to recover.
