From Sky Sports (via an app, so no link I'm afraid), quoting Wenger about Sahin:

“At the moment, it is not alive. Can you be not alive and not dead? It is possible.”

Probably means nothing, but I'm not counting this chicken until its hatched and laying eggs of its own.
"Life is not just about money. There are other things, important things that have a different kind of value. Anyone from Liverpool could tell you that."

Why are we that excited about Sahin? I mean did anyone see him play? Did you look at his injury records? I mean i know Madrid is packed with Mega Stars but if he is that talented why didn't he get any playing time in the squad?

We wouldnt have to search hard to upgrade our midfield and maybe all bar one
at a push we have in that area at the moment would get anywhere near Madrids
team.

Looks like we have loosened the purse strings to get this guy ahead of Arsenal so
they must think he will be the key piece to pull it all together so we can dominate
the ball in the midfield area and bring this team up a level.

One player can make a big difference if its the right guy and I think they are hoping
Sahin is that player for us this year.

Why didn't he get any play time? Yes he was injured for a little bit, but Madrid are full of good CMs.  Alonso, Khedira, Ozil, Diarra, Kaka.  There's lots of competition, and he's the young one they're bringing up.  They prefer the older more experienced players, and his style of play is very similar to Alonso.  Who do you play, Alonso, or Sahin?  There's your answer.

Liverpool Football Club have reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign Nuri Sahin on a season-long loan deal, subject to the player passing a medical.

Sahin moved to Madrid last summer fresh from helping Borussia Dortmund secure the German championship and being named as the Bundesliga's Player of the Season.

The playmaker collected another league title winners' medal as the Spanish giants clinched La Liga in May.

Sahin has 31 caps for Turkey and became their youngest ever scorer when he netted on his debut against Germany in 2005, aged 17.

The 23-year-old will now undergo a medical on Merseyside.

Some suggesting that they had all but agreed to loan to Arsenal when we came in at the last minute and offered 5Mil. Arsenal offered 2.

Good player and just what we need, but 5 mill for a loan with no option to buy is a lot.

a season is a long time and a lot can change, if he likes it in england (and lets face it a lot of players do) and we have a good season he may want to extend his loan or even stay permanently.
madrid may sign other midfielders (like modric) and if he`s getting his game here and playing week in and week out he may think `ah f**k it i`ll stay here, i`d rather be playing every week in the prem than in and out of the side in la liga`.
if we finish in the top 4 and manage to qualify for the CL (fingers crossed) that would help i`m sure.
i`m made up about this, i`ve just got a funny feeling that we are going to go close to winning the league this season (and i`m usually a pessamist)

I've sent he highlights of him and he looks very useful. Madrid obviously thought so or they wouldn't have signed him. He was unlucky with injury hence why he never established himself.

Nuri Sahin made 104 key passes in 2010/11; the top performer in the PL last season (Luka Modric) made 92
