Well Benny wins. I'm backing down. No more Adam Johnson talk (especially in the Carroll thread!) from me. We'll leave it at that. I don't have to justify anything to you Benny. run along

A manager is judged on various elements of his job and yes i will judge him as he goes on.

Not sure exactly what it is you think I'm doing wrong when I'm not slating the manager or slagging him off like you did with Kenny.

Rodgers will certainly get the time from me - you can point out where I have said different. It's posters like you and Heimdall and Tampax will be the first to demand Rodgers is gone - you all have previous and form.

Rodgers will be judged on RESULTS and RESULTS alone.  He's got 2 years for me, unless he takes us down, so won't be calling his head anytime soon.

Nice of you to give him longer than you did Kenny - the proof will be in your actions and we saw the way you spoke about a legend.

Well your "inside" knowledge of him hasn't really reflected the guys actions.

Nothing confusing - i think most witnessed your attacks on Kenny last season - i think they started around Jan - so thats only 5 months into a season and you were demanding Kenny goes.

Lets see if you follow your normal low standards - i expect you will .

You can keep on insulting me to deflect from the truth but most people know exactly what you were posting about Kenny.

replacing a striker who after a bad start to his career here started to show that he could give even the best defences trouble and replacing him with a 21 year old who hasnt played 50 career games yet and hasnt scored a goal in the top flight in this country.
from christmas onwards carroll was one of the better performers in our side, granted he wasnt scoring goals by the bucketfull but he ended the season by scoring the winner in the biggest derby game in a quarter of a century and nearly single handedly turned around the f.a cup final against the european champions. 3 days later he ripped the european champions to shreds again.
carroll wasnt perfect but he was effective, he showed against the likes of united, everton (both at anfield and wembley) and chelsea that he could rattle centre halves.
we know nothing about this lad or how he will cope with the pressure of playing for a club like liverpool.
not many 21 year olds come into this league and start ripping up tree`s, if he fails to score many (which is a real possibility given his inexperience and age) or impose himself on games both he and rodgers will come under pressure just as carroll did himself. lets hope if it comes to that that borini shows the same mental toughness that carroll showed.
being 21 wont stop people questioning him if he fails to hit the ground running, look at ngog.

explain why you believe the departure of Andy Carroll would be so detrimental to the manager and the forthcoming season
Why do you refer to the manager as B-Rod and will you afford him the patience he deserves

I believe it would be detrimental because we have seen in the last couple of months how effective and beneficial Carroll can be to a team that gives him the opportunity to use his power and skill. KK fu'cked up in the FA cup and Hodgson fu'cked up in the Euros. If B-Rod lets him go he will be weakening our squad
I call him B-Rod because I think it suits him, its easy to say and it winds certain people up
I will definitely afford him the patience he deserves because, as I have said, I feel hes the new Shankly and must be given the same amount as Shankly did when he first came here. Hopefully other supporters will feel the same way
OK?

By the way folks Rodgers has given an interview to the Independent on this link-

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/brendan-rodgers-prepared-for-four-years-in-wilderness-with-liverpool-7936378.html

He doesn't know if he'll be around after four years. He strikes me as quite a careerist I was quite excited when he was appointed but the more I hear from him the more disillusioned I feel.

On Carroll I think he'll definitely go the question is when.

I blame the owners over the Carroll transfer for appointing Comolli and for signing the cheque that allowed a £10 million player to join Liverpool for £35 million. I don't think any of last summers buys were Kenny's buys Comolli was looking at Suarez and Carroll before Kenny took over from Hodgson the same in terms of Henderon, Downing and Adam.

Adam will be next to go I think I can't see him being around long term to fit in with Rodgers philosophy he's not quick enough and his passing is too slow. The owners may want to tighten the belts in terms of future transfers after what happened last season but the reality is that £9 million buys like Borini will not help make Liverpool a major force again. Sooner or later they'll have to put their hand in their pocket.

It looks like it will be later once Rodgers has got things sorted out in terms of scoring goals and getting back to fortress Anfield. By the looks of that interview he's given to the Independent I don't think Rodgers really wants the Liverpool job long term. I doubt he'll stay four years. I think the owners will hope he can get us into the top four again and then they'll recruit somebody better from abroad.

Kenny Kan » Thu Jul 12, 2012 7:47 pm wrote::laugh: fecking hell, polar opposite posts from the more impatient bunch like Reg and his impatient fickle crew (maypax I support Citeh now because I'm from Singapore) casting Carroll as a "failure" after 1 full fecking season. Then on the other hand you have yckdkwefbfbwhewkjn proclaiming the world will end (figuratively speaking) if Carroll's moved on.

Personally, I actually feel sorry for Andy Carroll, I really do. I think the guy deserves a break here at LFC but if Rodger's doesn't see him in his plans, there isn't much else you can do.

On a side note - I don't think Dempsey who has been touted about joining us is a bad move as many on here suggest, I quite rate him and think he'd offer us something in the final third. Borini, 'aven't a farking clue, but as I've said, this forum is the only one I've read about him, where slitting my wrists would be a more jovial pleasure.

Come come Kenneth, you're falling into the trap of taking the opposite side of whatever opinion I have no matter how absurd the case. Feel sorry for Carroll?   He showed feck all promise for 12 months, scored a coupla goals at the end and now he's the new messiah?  After his amateur dramatics up at St James' Park when he did an Olympic dive from the half way line (double pike with triple somersault) to land in the box which summed up his complete lack of ability, what makes you feel the lad deserves another chance? Some might agree and think he still fits the bill, mainly the clubs now being associated with his public auction in the county market in Leominster. The fact that we'll probably recover no more than half what we paid shows you the size of the mistake we made.

Trouble with you KK is you get sidetracked and defend the player rather than his record. A turd is a turd no matter from which angle you look at it.
