Alan Hansen is wrong most of the time and he does talk a lot of cr@p sometimes, so I won't take him too seriously

I hope he is wrong this time too

I believe we'll continue with mid table finish again for at least another 2 seasons before we have any hope of seeing light at end of the tunnel. Why?

1. Without CL football thus hard to attract star names and with limited funds from FSG because Kenny wasted 120 million on circus clowns last summer and one tall expensive clown last January. Thus leaving Rodgers with little money to sign players that he would have wanted. Thanks to Kenny's transfer blunders. And FSG is no where near City, Chelsea, Arsenal in terms of providing funds.

2. Swansea league results were average(check it out at soccernet.com ), so we're appointing an average side manager hoping he can get us to become title contenders. This is a big risk for a big club like Liverpool IMO. We almost appointed a relegation battling manager which I thought FSG was playing a cruel joke.

Now Rodgers may come out good one day, but not this next season and the next next season due to above reasons.  But being a die hard fan, I'll still get behind Rodgers and will be more than happy for him to prove me wrong.

Liverpool football club generate money every season, so our manager will always have money to sign players. As for Arsenal getting funds, would you like to post evidence of this? It would appear that Arsene Wenger is as much of a money-spinner for Arsenal's wealthy shareholders as a manager of the club. Arsenal hardly spend any money and haven't for a long time. City and Chelsea are billionaire play things, nothing more. They hardly have owners I'd want at the club. FSG will operate the same way that United's owners operate, i.e. They'll run the club as a business with a business model implemented to ensure long-term stability which should lead to long-term success.

Swansea's results were average? For a new team coming into the Premiership to finish where they did with very little money spent and their best player being a loanee that deserves the utmost respect. The problem with supporters like yourself is simple, you know the price of everything and the value of nothing to quote Y----kamb!

You'd have to completely void of any humour to have taken that seriously.

The mancs are 1 billion in debt roughly - all against the club - I hope we aren't going to be run like them

Very true, I have made this error on countless occasions last season!

If you take away the costs of Suarez, Enrique and Coates then Kenny has only really fritted away £66m or there abouts and there is no reason why Carroll and Henderson cannot become good player for us. Adam I have written off because I never really was impressed with him at Blackpool. I've never understood the fuss about the man, he has the mobility of a brick and as for Downing, he shows no fight, no grit or determination. He seems quite weak mentality, like a porcelain doll. Whether or not Rodgers can turn the fortunes of these four players around is not something I can comment on. I hope so as I want all players in our squad to improve, get some consistency and become very good footballers for us.

Hopefully Brendan can utilise the money he has given a lot more wisely than Dalglish.

Both Carroll and Henderson will be fine , both young players with plenty of development ahead

Downing needs to really get sorted next season

Adam - well I don't think he has a chance

B.R. has said all the right things which are very therapeutic to bitterly disappointed fans after last season. So let's give him until Christmas at the earliest to judge how good he really is.

Ps. I like his 4-2-1-2-1 formation which I think will suit our players.

They're nowhere near that much in debt, according to the last set of figures they were roughly between £700m-£800m worth of debt and is the debt at United in down to Glazers own financial problems? United despite this heavy debt and daily payments of a reported £250,000 a day are actually still making profits each year. The Glazers are estimated to be $1.1bn in debt. United minus the debt are continuing to make money, United is a football club that generates its own revenue for transfers etc which means that Ferguson always has money to spend and is able to have United challenging at the top of the league.

Since the Glazers took over in 2005 and heaped such high debt on United. United have managed to win 4 league titles, 3 league cups, 4 community shields, 1 European cup, 1 Fifa club world cup. That's 13 pieces of silverware in 7 years.

The United business model minus the debt is the way a club is run successfully over the long-term. That's what FSG are going to do, they are going to ensure that the structures are put in place that mean Liverpool football club is self-sufficient, so that it can have the sustainability needed to enjoy long-term success.

Chelsea and City's model is simple, spend, spend, spend and spend some more.
