I should think so. I mean they outplayed us twice and they did a number on Arsenal. With the right players I'm sure we'll excel under his management.

i mean in terms of the two fullbacks pushing really high up the pitch and the two centre halves splitting to either side of the box to pick the ball up off reina. i'm not sure we'll play out from the back every single time like swansea did. we'll definitely need a playmaker though that everything goes through, a bit like leon britton is for swansea though. lucas isn't that man as he's more all action.

also be interesting to see if carroll is a regular as swansea didn't play with a target man as they didn't really have that option. danyy graham ran in behind defences more and they obviously had the two wide players supporting him.

he's gonna love danny agger :buttrock .
he could be the man who gets the best out of aggers penetrating runs from deep.

I think the reason he understands this club so much is because his Grandfather and Father were both Liverpool supporters. He grew up watching Liverpool in the 70's and 80's.

isn't there a clause that he can't go back for any swansea players for 12 months?

Haven't read the interview in full yet but I like what I have heard so far.
Mourinho saying nice things about him too.

It seems obvious to me with his "wheelbarrow" comment he won't have limitless funds - so will be interesting to see who we bring in.
I just hope he isn't restricted to bargain basement purchases.

Yes, it was apart of the compensation package agreed between both clubs.

Was Kenny restricted to bargain basement purchases?

Interestingly 51% of voters on the skysports poll of 'Is Brendan Rodgers the right man for Liverpool?' have voted "no". I hope he's success and I believe he will be a success, he just needs time to build a team and implement his philosophy and hopefully FSG will give him that time.

No but that doesn't mean Brendan won't be. Let's face it FSG haven't exactly had full value for some of Kenny's buys, at least not yet.

Forget Kenny, that was last season, this is a new beginning. This an FSG appointment - I'm sure Rodgers wouldn't have taken the job if there was no money for him to spend. Naturally he'll sell a few players in the summer and will bring a few signings in (I'd imagine). I am just waiting to see what happens.

I'm excited though.

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has urged the club's fans to give their backing to new manager Brendan Rodgers, but warned next season could be a "difficult one" for the Anfield faithful.

Rodgers is likely to be officially confirmed as the club's new manager tomorrow after telling Swansea City he wanted to leave after two years in his role at the Liberty Stadium.

But former Cardiff City striker Fowler said Rodgers could struggle to close the gap between Liverpool and the top four.

“For what Brendan Rodgers has achieved at Swansea, he deserves huge respect,” Fowler told paddypower.com.

“He’s worked under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea so he knows the score and he’s worked with top players.

“It’d be a massive step up for Rodgers to manage Liverpool, if he gets the job, as expected now.

“The new manager will need to bring in new players again to take Liverpool from a top-eight club to a top-four club.

“That’s going to be really difficult. It’s a massive challenge.

“Because the top four are going to bring in new players too and that gulf increases again.

“I have to say it, right now the 2012-13 season looks like it’s going to be another difficult one for Liverpool fans.”

I am excited too, I just hope they back him that's all. No doubt rumours will follow on players!

that's because the majority of sky sports viewers are clueless whoppers who get their opinions from the morons on soccer saturday and phoneins with windup merchants on talksport.

personally i couldn't give a monkeys what any media outlets have to say about his appointment. he's here now so they'll have to deal with it.
