Rumour hes been summoned across the pond for a chat after that shambles today.

Personally I would put him on the rock and lock the sh*ithouse up but you have to ask
who duped Fenway into giving him a job in the first place.

Hes a tracky scout watching players only with an Ipad and a 2 grand suit on his back
paid for by his extrodinary salary, what a load of b**ll*c*ks this role is btw.

Should be f*ucked off

i`m not a fan of DoF`s myself, couldnt see ferguson accepting one and whenever you get a big personality in the managers seat you tend to get arguments behind the scene`s like mourinho and arnessen (sp?) at chelsea. didnt comoli himself have a few run in`s at spurs with martin jol over the signings?

the jobsworth got the job as we have owners who know nothing about the sport.. he is effectively doing the sports side of their job.

Again, i said it previously.. the set up at the club is a massive concern.

it would make it a lot clearer if we actually knew who were the people responsible for the awful signings.was it kenny or comoli?.at least if we just had a manager then we would know but this secrecy stuff does my head in.
fsg might not know an awful lot about football but they will want to know why the money they spent has been spunked down the drain.out of all the new signings enrique and suarez have been the best and the rest have all been a shambles in the red.
fsg will have learned a lot this season and i really doubt we will have the wool pulled over our eyes again when it comes to new signings.

St Etienne attack on Liverpool FC Damien Comolli
Nov 29 2010 Liverpool Echo

ST ETIENNE co-chairman Bernard Caiazzo has launched a stinging atack at former employee Damien Comolli.

Comolli was previously in charge of transfer signings at the French club but quit to become Liverpool’s director of football strategy.

But Caiazzo said: “You need some humility in football and Damien was convinced he was right 100 per cent of the time. There was never any question of dialogue.

“Damien enjoyed total power in his first year with us. His was the last word on all transfers and that is how he wanted it.

“The manager at the time, Alain Perrin, had not even seen some of the players he was given. Damien was his boss.

“His powers were much reduced in January after the failure of his transfer policy the previous summer and he was not pleased.

“I would have fired him then but my co-chairman defended him for months, even when results were poor. It was a mistake bringing him back to the club.”

It could just be a touch of sour grapes from  Caiazzo    ...but this Comolli guy likes to make all the transfer decisions by all accounts
not sure whether that's a good thing or a bad thing  ....however this statement is a tad worrying if true "“You need some humility in football and Damien was convinced he was right 100 per cent of the time. There was never any question of dialogue."

do Liverpool really need any more infighting behind the scenes at this club ? we certainly don't need yet another stubborn battle of egos

Sorry to pour hot water on your resplendent return to the forum Heimdall ,but I doubted his involvement on such matters as incoming transfers .
OK brief interlude over....you carry on driving that agenda home .

There are surely serious questions to be asked of Comolli in terms of the largely British only strategy and not just in terms of whether the likes of Henderson and Carroll were signed twelve or twenty four months earlier than they might have been.

If Kenny stays this summer he and Comolli have to get it right this summer if Liverpool are to have any chance in the next five years of getting back into the top four. If Kenny leaves this summer then there is surely no place either for Liverpool's Sporting Director at the club under whoever is appointed the next manager.

if Kenny goes then Comolli has to follow in order to allow the new manager the choice of whether he wants a DOF or not.
“You cannot transfer the heart and soul of Liverpool Football Club, although I am sure there are many clubs who would like to buy it.”

Sacked

@SkySports: Liverpool have parted company with director of football Damien Comolli. #LFC More on site soon...

Fenway Sports Group and Liverpool FC confirmed today that Director of Football Damien Comolli had left the Club by mutual consent.

Principal Owner John Henry said: "We are grateful for all of Damien's efforts on behalf of Liverpool and wish him all the best for the future."

Liverpool Chairman Tom Werner added: "The Club needs to move forward and we now have a huge game on Saturday.  It is important that everyone joins us in supporting the manager and gets behind Kenny and the team and focuses on a strong finish to the season."

Damien Comolli commented: "I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to work at Liverpool and am happy to move on from the Club and back to France for family reasons.  I wish the Club all the best for the future."

My money would be on SACKED but the club letting him save some face by trotting out the old "mutual consent" line and him moving back to France for "family reasons".

Yet another example of Director of Football position being a complete load of *****! Hopefully Fenway will learn from this and restructure the club in a more traditional way.
